Excellent service. The steak was medium rare, as ordered. However, the chilli butter didn&rsquo;t go  well with it.

Staff are very kind and welcoming.  The food was cooked fantastic

Had the 3 course lunch , pork belly bao buns for entree was delicious, main - noodles with lobster was a bit ordinary in flavour and I wish it had a few more veg rather than just bok choy and onion, I had a taste of the salmon - that was delicious. Creme brulee dessert was lovely just leave out the red sugary cherries. Service was excellent by everyone who attended to us. The very well daylight lit restaurant was quiet and easy to have a conversation, smelled fresh and clean and not flooded with cooking smells.

Enjoyed dinner with group of four recently and was really impressed. Great atmosphere, very friendly and courteous waitresses and excellent food quality ! Will be returning soon for sure and highly recommend.

Poor service on both the bar and the kitchen sides. The bar staff didn&#39;t want to serve  when there wasn&#39;t anyone there. Tried order a beer and was asked &#39;large or small&#39; glass. They have not the standard pint or schooner, the staff wouldn&#39;t even tell you to order food separately at the kitchen counter until you asked.Ordered food at the kitchen counter was easy, however the dishes were very disappointing. Only the garlic bread was good. Fish and chips deep fired Chicken wings, and chicken parmigiana were Soggy, and Luke warm. Ordered chicken wings and got chicken drums instead, absolutely tasteless unfortunately.The 2 stars are for the garlic bread and outdoor seating.

I&#39;ve been there after work with my workmates on a Friday afternoon. The pub is large and spacious, with several tables and chairs to accommodate groups of different sizes. I found it in some corners to be a bit dark but that may suit some guests for more privacy. One thing that I didn&#39;t like was when I have ordered a drink as it was only a non-alcoholic drink, the staff member did in a big rush, not presenting me the options and not collecting my order clearly. I felt like I was wasting his time with such a drink when he had are more important customers ready to order alcoholic drinks. Other than this little order &amp; serving issue, everything went well in there and we all had a good time.

Great pub , service is good , the food is great and one of the best beer gardens around . You are walking into history it&#39;s one of the oldest pubs around and it has a charm about it ... It has a area where the kids can play and you can sit back have a drink and a good meal and watch the footy...

There are five of us from Gippsland who meet for dinner before the MSO Monash Series concerts. This was our first visit to Shaven&#39;s and we will definitely be returning. The dining room was beautifully set out and quiet. The food was wonderful. The service was impeccable and the price was reasonable. And it&#39;s less than 10 minutes from Monash.

Try this great place for lunch. The service is very efficient and friendly. They have a very extensive lunch menu for all at round $10 to $13. The glass noddles with chicken are really light tasty and have plenty of fresh chilli.
